Doreen Schaffer - “Sugar Sugar.” The Skatalites’ siren with Laurel Aitken and Coxsone Dodd! I have this on vinyl :D Found it in a milk crate about 10 years ago at a flea market in nowheresville, central Florida.

The Gaylads - “Love Me With All Your Heart.” Can you tell I am a sucker for the sappiest of sappy rocksteady?

The Tennors - “Pressure and Slide” (1967)

Here’s another classic northern soul injection for your day if you’re feeling sleepy like I am… Al Wilson - “The Snake” (1968)

The Versatiles - “Spread Your Bed” (1969)

The Mellotones - “Dry Up Your Tears” (1969)

Derrick Morgan - “Don’t Play That Song” (1969).

Love this version of “Cherry Oh Baby” by Eric Donaldson! (1971) (Yeah, still on that Trojan Records binge)

I agree. Such a quality blog. Most "ska" blogs I have found on tumblr are largely distant from the music and can be rather lowbrow. Glad to follow one that keeps it real. Keep it up.

Thank you!! Honestly it may be because I don’t really listen to new ska or follow the scene much in its current form… I like to keep it classic! There are enough blogs on Tumblr obsessively copying and pasting Streetlight Manifesto photos. ;)

Tumblr is really full of porn spam bots the last few days :(

Anyone else getting a bunch of “likes” from accounts that are clearly not real? Boooo.
